Property desciption.
50m2 ground-floor mini villa, two minutes walk from the center of town Hvar, built in historical neighborhood.
Situated in a blind, quiet alley, surrounded by it's own garden and with a large, safe terrace; ideal place for a couple with a small child (at most two pre-school children).
Terrace has an open view to the hills, to the ancient city walls and two fortresses -'Fortica', from 16th century, and 'Napoleon' from early 19th century.
The ancient wall as seen on the photo next to the terrace of my property belongs to the Renaissance summer home (now small museum)of renowned 16th century Croatian poet Hanibal Lucic.
Isolated from the traffic or the town noise, only 2 minutes walk from the parking lot, market, shops, restaurants, cafes and main square; 5 minutes walk from the 'riva', waterfront and the port.
With all contemporary facilities, i.e. fully equipped kitchen, tv/satellite, dvd player, fast internet , it is also ideal place for prolonged 'working' holidays out of high season.
Pets are welcome.
Location Description.
In the town of Hvar there are various topics of interest:
one of the oldest municipal theatre in Europe from 1612.,
St. Stephens Cathedral, Franciscan Monastery, other churches and museums to visit, exhibitions to be seen, and concert events lasting from May till October to attend.
You might visit Vrboska, fishing village with the most unusual "church-fortress" from 16th century. Or Brusje, Grabje, Pitve - charming little villages with traditional architecture, all within an hour drive by a car from the town of Hvar.
Or you might visit Humac, abandoned picturesque shepherd's village (dating from 15th century) on the top of the island, near Jelsa. There you can admire the most exquisite view from both, south and north, sides of the island, enjoying domestic biologically grown food on the property of a local owner of the unique open-space and inside tavern serving the finest local wine and traditional food. Visit the horse ranch. And for those who stay late in the evening, far from the electricity pollution, there is stargazing with at least one shooting star to remember from the holidays.
For a keen walker there are miles of walks all around the island, and through Roman ager (the oldest division of agricultural field near Stari Grad, now under the protection of UNESCO) with breathtaking views among the vineyards, olive orchards, lavender fields and scented Mediterranean vegetation.
Eight kilometers from Hvar is situated Dubovica, gem of the island. Tiny cove with turquoise sea and white pebble, villa rustica of family Kasandric from 18th century on the cliff, and the smallest church one can imagine on the shore.
The particular attraction of vacationing in Hvar is Paklinski islands, small archipelago situated in front of the town of Hvar, where small boats will take you in 20 minutes for a day trip, to enjoy the crystal clear sea, beautiful sunsets and tasty food in small restaurants by the beach.
There are also options for sport lovers: diving, kayaking, cycling.
And for those familiar with the sailing there is a possibility to rent a small boat and to explore many beautiful secluded coves and beaches along the island which could not be reached any other way.
